United Nations

That paragon of virtue and clarity and love for all mankind, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is scheduled to highlight the plenary address at a UN conference on Racism in Switzerland.

The Iranian President's speech is set for Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The man has publicly called many, many times for the destruction of Israel.

The good folks at the UN, or at least, their schedulers, must have a very deep sense of humour.

Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany, Britain, the United States and Italy are among the countries who have politely excused themselves from this dark comedy.

Orwell is alive and well.

Slight correction, Sir David; to their eternal shame, Saudi Britain will be represented at the Jew-hate-a-thon after all:

One has to remember that the UN has been co-opted by a new majority from the radical arab/muslim bloc along with their fellows with like minds. The BS they spew is to annoy the western bloc nations and to play to the racial/religious fanaticism of their own peoples. Russia and China have their own problems with large minorities from these folks and are having internal troubles the West doesn't have yet. Except Europe which is now holding its collective breath as to when the next mass bombing will take place. Britain caved when their radical muslim MP threatened a mass demonstration over a Dutch MP coming to London for a conference. Sad and it seems the UN is heading the way of the Dodo (The League of Nations)
