Today, down in my building's laundry room, I round a paperback copy of "The Cat's Cradle" that someone was passing on. This was mere minutes after I read your posting. Destiny!
My first encounter with KV was "Harrison Bergeron" and what impressed me the most (more than his warning about the dangers of egalitarianism gone wild) was how concisely he illustrated that humanity is often its own greatest threat. Somewhat apt considering KV's own life was tormented at times. RIP.
