Valuing Our Health care System

Do we have problems with our health care system in Canada?

Yes, of course we do. And we are right to remain vigilant in our pursuit of BETTER.

But, just to put our situation in perspective, check out how our wonderful neighbors to the south are doing in their land of plenty and opportunity.

Herewith is a chilling story of a 50 year old real estate agent, who like 47 million of her fellow Americans is without health care insurance.

Read it and weep for her, and then be happy and grateful for yourself, Canucklehead.

Canadian vs. American: It's a toss-up. When I tell Americans down here in Miami about the free medical, they're insanely jealous. But then when I point out what kind of income tax we pay, they almost faint.

Oddly enough, there was a segment on 60 Minutes on Sunday about how the current American health care system is the most expensive in the world and that it will break the country's financial resources if not brought under control.

So no system is perfect. In Canada, I just can't stand the fact that there's no accountability to control costs and, in fact, they have no idea how much different procedures cost. That's just insane.
