David, we all knew that the security costs would skyrocket; we all knew that Campbell & Co. were fibbing about security costs; we know Harpo & Co. were fibbing likewise; we know that VANOC have mislead the public on security costs - and you are surprised.
I was never for or against the Olympics (which I think is a major 'elite' trough feeding event) but the 2011 financial hangover may cure any hunger for more world class events.
I say let everyone in BC who bought Olympic licence plates, pay any additional taxes needed or if there is profit, share the profit ........ not!
The Olympics is a scam; has been treated as a scam and the taxpayer is the loser for it.
