Sunday, Sweet Sunday
The snow.
End of story.
Today, I am hoping that, amidst the wrapping of prezzies and watching the NFL and cooking and stocking up with more firewood and apple sauce, some of you might take digits to computers and give me your thoughts about yesterdays post, "The Role of Government in Our Lives."
Have a restful and warm Sunday.
If you have a toboggan, all the better....whheeeeeeee........

not surprised there are 0 comments so far.. this is THE moral political question for our time..I used to say "let them die" it's their choice etc etc..the slippery slope and all that it implies ..my criteria has tended to be "third party harm" if the behavior obstructs safety on the roods ..or physical safety of others ..no brainer ..interfere!!..if it is someone screaming and yelling on a bully pulpit in Hyde Park ..fine..if they are screaming in my face here on Fort street in Victoria ..interfere.. now ..as to Druggies.. if we are going to insist on saving them against their will it costs a fortune..on the other hand arresting them for criminal behavior committed to support their habit costs a fortune also and their crime has clearly interfered with a third party..so maybe put them in a leper type colony ..give them the drugs and let them overdose.. David..regulate the banks and corporatete guys.. with a heavy enough touch to be effective and not too heavy a touch to curtail creativity in the market..no one person is smart enough to do this , so have a team of folks who will check and balance ..like Obamma's choice of the 2 pastors with divergent views that he has invited to speak at his inaguration.. we dont all have to agree ..but it would be nice if there was respectful disagreement..
David..meant to sign my name to the comment it is Peter in Victoria
