I heard about the central money grab of community centre funding. It stinks. They're messing with our hockey rinks... My friend in Munich read about this and emailed me concerned. He's out there for a couple of years, but follows our community news.
The Parks Board is following a poor example, like what they did with the local police forces in Vienna, Austria years ago. They centralized, drove out localization and tried to run it from centre. Net result? Vienna went from one of the safest cities on the globe to 50%, that's not typo, 50% of every resident having being robbed.
