Abbott Needs Commitment

Hot on the heels of yesterday's major report in the Sun on how we are failing the mentally ill (covered here in yesterday's blog), BC Housing Minister, George Abbott, that deeply committed and famously competent legislator, has announced that there will soon be a long term facility for 100-150 mentally ill who are chronically offending.

The devil is in the details.

The mere fact that Abbott is wandering somewhere between 100 and 150 human beings tells us how little he knows.

And WHERE?

We're going to have a community court downtown. OK. We got that. But where is this mythical treament facility going to blossom? Dunbar? Richmond? Some other warm and welcoming community?

An ice flow?

BC Place?
