Quote of the Week

" I doubt that many people in Metro Vancouver of aware of Translink's wordwide reputation."

Hahahaha...

I doubt that Thomas Prendergast, the new CEO of Transclunk, recently imported from NYC, has ever waited 20 minutes for the #20 bus at the Broadway station at 8 pm, surrounded by drug deals.

I doubt that Mr. P. is aware of how arrogantly he has begun his reign telling us poor little Metro Vancouverites how little is our awareness.

I doubt P. has taken his communications and diplomacy pills this week.

Oh yes, Vancouver has a world wide transit reputation and it isn't what Thomas Prendergast, had in mind. Vancouver's transit system or more its SkyTrain and soon RAV light-metro system is viewed by world transit experts (if they care at all) is an anomaly; a city the only city in the world, which continues to build with hugely expensive light-metro for its 'rail' transit needs.

Only five cities in the world operate SkyTrain today and that after changing its marketing name 5 times and being on the market for almost 30 years. Wow, Translink is on the lips of everyone.

Vancouver and Translink have gained a reputation as an international laughingstock, pursing light-metro which is contrary to what every other major city in the world is doing.

The fact is, no one cares about Vancouver, we have nothing to offer but expensive to build & operate SkyTrain and a regional bus system that has failed to attract the motorist from the car.

Ya just another American no nothing, hired to prop up the 'ship of fools', otherwise known as Translink.
