One of a Kind

There was a time when everyone in the world had a copy of "Working," sticking out of his back pocket.

Studs Terkel, the author of that book and many others and one of the great broadcasters, died yesterday at the age of 96.

The Reuters obit published today in the Sun is a a good one.

I love Studs Terkel.

I remember reading "Working" when I was fourteen in 1985.

A more recent book that I enjoyed was entitled, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" (or something to that effect). It was a book of interviews with various people on death and life after death. As a nurse trained in palliative care, I found it an amazing read.

He will be missed and, if the circle is truly unbroken, I hope that he is enjoying his life in the beyond.
