Whose Funeral?

Court bans Prime Minister from politics for five years

Oooops...

That's from Thailand, not Ottawa.

Too bad.

Have you ever seen such an unholy mess?

Stephen Harper has committed one of the greatest public toe-stubbings in Canadian history. What a klotz.

And the idea that Stephane Dion could be interim Prime Minister for even a nano-second threatens the nation with mass cardio problems.

The Liberal Party has no money. It just a few weeks ago won the lowest share of popular votes in history and Dion has been the least popular leader of all time.

Yet thanks to Harper's Hubris and colossal misreading of every pulse in the land, that troika of red-nosed clowns may be (mis)leading the country for some time to come.

And none of this addresses the airline industry (Air Canada is bleeding.), health, education, crumbling roads, highways sewers and other infrastructures, forests and tourism just for starters.

None of this addresses anything other than the Shakespearean ambitions of tiny little men with tiny little weenies.

So much of their energies are taken up now and will be taken up well into the future with these selfish intrigues that they cannot possibly focus serious attention of the problems ahead.

And the problems are huge and complex.

The TSX dropped more than 800 points yesterday. What visits America follows swiftly north, the incubation period usually being about three months.

The house is burning and these irresponsible children are arm-wrestling to see who gets the last chocolate bar.

Welcome to Canada's 4 ring circus, with clowns aplenty. The world is now getting a first hand look (if they care) and the shambles Canada has become. More outstanding, is how ignorant Canadians are of our political system, where many prefer 3 or 4 year dictatorships.

You don't have to be a 10 in politics to succeed, if you are a 3 and everyone else is a 1; but in Canada, our politicians seem to be all "0"'s.

The Govenor General will have no choice but to call for another election, all the issues that the opposition was screaming about have been taken off the table.

So this opposition coalition is going to bring down the goverment because Harper isn`t spending his way out?

The GG can not and will not set a precedent by allowing any opposition coalition to bring down a minority goverment because they are not spending on a UNPROVEN STIMULUS PACKAGE!

during the recent federal election, both the Liberals and NDP accused the Conservatives of moving towards a deficit, now just weeks later, their coalition proposes to go to a $30 Billion deficit.

The prime minister is making it better for us already! Most people don't realize how much money there is out there. During economic times like this, there is more money to be had than ever. Because of the bailouts and economy, lenders are bending over backwards to bail you out too. Believe it or not, there is people getting tons of cheap money nowdays to start businesses, buy homes, pay off debt, and more. Bailout is for YOU

I like the analogy you use to describe it. I personally think all the parties should realise that they are in a minority situation during a world crisis. We want leadership, not pettiness. That goes for all sides. I support the idea but that doesn't change the fact that it is opertunistic. Harper doesn't seem to grasp he is in a minority situation and refuses to work with anyone else. Its disgusting really.

Of course, not as disgusting as the lies being spread about it. It is legal. Morality doesn't come into it.

Well, once the running of the Reptiles is over, we will go back to the Polling Booth, and elect a majority Conservative Government. Count on it. In the meantime, we can look forward to Elizabeth May being awarded a Senate Seat by Back Pack Boy, and no doubt Mr. Layton as Minister of Finance, with Libby Davies as Defence Minister, with Hedy Fry, Minister of Human Kindness and Decorum.

Cheers, Gary.

David,

What boggles my mind is how Harper can break his "promises" (income trusts, fixed election date) and expect us to believe that he won't eliminate election funding support when the smoke clears? Was it the blue eyes and matching pullovers in front of the fireplace that won so many over? Sorry, believers, but there's a serious disconnect about this man IMHO.

I hope the GG tells them all to campaign again. I doubt that Harper will be as well-received in Quebec next time. The Devil you say. Time for the Liberals, NDP, and Greens to agree on a non-compete strategy. Otherwise, stop whining when you lose. The majority of Canadians did not want the Conservatives.

I have always felt that way about Harper. Never trusted him and still don't. His minority government allayed some of my fears. Now......who knows? Bloody mess.

Disgusted with the lot of them. Oh, Canada!

Here's to hoping the chocolate bar falls into the embers.

Time to send Ottawa packing.

Adios!
