Bang!

With another shooting early this morning, it is clear that Vancouver area newspapers, struggling to remake themselves in the hope of survival, will have to begin every day with a new category:

THE DAILY SHOOT

This is where rookie reporters will pay their dues and get their stripes.

The next section of the remade papers will have to be something like:

DAILY GOVERNMENT PROMISE OF ACTION

The Sun & Province have a problem, their corporate owners what them to spin positive news stories about their corporate owners friends. This means positive stories about Gordo and Falco.

This means positive stories about Gordo's and Falco's pet projects.

This means positive stories about RAV.

This means positive stories about the Olympics.

This means positive stories about Gateway.

This means positive stories about Fish Farms.

This means positive stories about Run of River Projects.

And so on.

And if one can't report a positive story, then do not report one at all or spin a story so it sounds positive.

The only way the peons can protest is not buy the product. I do not buy the product and a lot of people, it seems, do not buy the product. Now this ain't rocket science Asper and Co., if your product doesn't meet the consumers expectations, then change it.

The Sun & Province ain't changing.
