AN OPEN LETTER TO CASH HEED

Dear Kash,

With due respect, what in the devil's name are you doing?

Until I am shown otherwise, I will continue to believe that you are a good cop and sometimes a great cop.

I don't know if you've noticed lately, Kash, but we are in dire need of good and great law enforcement people these days.

We don't need new politicians, Kash. We need good cops, effective cops, honest cops, dedicated cops. Like you.

If all this swirl is true, if in fact you are going to be running for election in May with Gordon Campbell's Liberals, all I can ask is, "Why?"

What could you possibly expect to accomplish, even if elected?

You'll get elected and Gordon will make you Attorney-G or Solicitor-G? Is that it?

I hate to be crude, but...is money involved? Rewards of some kind, other than the vanity of public office? I would hate to think so, and until shown otherwise, I don't think so. But, as you can see, I am not very bright and I am struggling to understand why a man who can so effectively serve the public in an honorable way would turn to the Most Rotten Show in Town.

Has someone convinced you that you have a shot at being Canada's first Indo-Canadian Prime Minister? Barack did it, so you can too, the time is ripe...is that what people are whispering in your ear?

Maybe so. Maybe they are right.

And that would be exciting and yes, worthwhile.

But the distance from Vancouver-Fraserview to Ottawa is many many millions of light years, fraught with monumental perils along the way. One wrong move and you're toast, Kash.

All I can see at this point is that, at a time of public fear and distrust in our constabulary and increasing crime and decreasing criminal justice, we are losing an excellent policeman and possibly gaining another bullshitting politician. Just what we don't need.

Say it isn't true.

David,

Interesting that the first thing that comes to your mind in reference to the rumours about Kash Heed potentially aspiring to higher office is money. Maybe that's what you associate higher office with. Thankfully, many others don't.

You harp on about your perceived lack of democracy in this country, then proceed to discredit and smear a good and honourable man who might want to participate in and contribute to it. And you bring race into the picture from the start.

You are, if anything, inconsistent in your writings on this blog.

Oh God! That means Wally Awful is running in Delta South; I was going to vote NDP but I will vote for Vickie Huntington.

As for Kash, why would a good cop want to sully his name with Campbell's Liberals? You lie with dogs - you stink!

I hope they both loose.

I just heard that federal NDPer Dawn Black, will step down federally, and run in BC's May election. This is good news, I hope she goes up against fatass Coleman!

In her book on the Air India disaster, Kim Bolan, probably the smartest investigative journalist we have ever read, talks about politicians receiving cash in envelopes when they attend special events. Perhaps that's what is going on here. I notice a right winger is trying to blast you. Fir back, over both bows. It makes no sense for a high paid cop to opt for a lesser paid job!
Something is running amuk here. An obnoxious woman had already declared herself as the Liberal candidate in South Delta. Now we have waffling Wally, who will lose to Huntington. He's been a continual disaster as AG. Perhaps Gordo recognizes this. Cheers.

Why does everyone assume Heed is a Liberal?
He comes from a family of Sikhs, and Sikhs tend to be supporters of the NDP.
Besides,why join a sinking ship?

I have one reason why I would never join the provincial NDP party.

CAROLE JAMES

Mr. Heed is smart to realize this and will take his chances with Gordo...he can see a change in the tides and the inevitable change of leadership in the Liberal party.

Dawn Black is going to run in New Westminster as the current NDP MLA in the riding has been battling cancer.
