Wheels Goes Round

It's Monday.

Must be time for another Kelly Ellard- Reena Virk trial.

Nice to know our prosecution teams and our juries and judges are all doing such a fine job.

Here's the really good part.

If the Supreme Court orders a new trail, guess who gets to decide if we should proceed or let Ellard, already convicted a few dozen times (I exaggerate!), plead guilty to something of a lesser charge, like crossing a bridge without a license?

That's right.

The man posing as the Attorney-General, that famed holder of all the high gold standards of justice in this province - the transparent one, Monseigneur Opaque.

This has to be a gold plated diamond encrusted example of how wrong our justice system has gone. Imagine if every offender was treated the same way MZ Ellard has been treated.

" Yes Mr. Berner we no that you were found guilty of making an illegal left turn on the night of Jnauary 5 1962. We realize that this is your 75th appeal on the charge and you were only 12 years old at the time so we give up.You are free to go . Forget the $11 fine"

Mz Ellard is an excellent example of a need for an overhaul. Death penalty maybe?
