QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Pretty much any time you go into the back country, you're taking a risk. And you accept those risks every time you do. You have to be smart. But what happened isn't going to stop me from going up there today, tomorrow, the next day."

Justin Trudeau, who lost his brother in a snowslide, says he is against regulations for the back country.
Good, I will vote for him.
On another note, a student from Alberta was killed skiing on the same weekend. It was pointed out by news announcers that the skier was wearing a helmet. You could almost hear the disapointment by the Helmet Advocates who would have loved to make a case for wearing helmets.

It's one thing to go into the back country. Heck, I'll do it occasionally. It's fun, adventurous and risky.

It's another to ride several very loud machines up the side of a mountain that has the perfect conditions for an avalanche. Add on to that the very idea that you have small children at home and the term moron comes to mind.

ps-if my usage of the term moron offends any particular group, then so be it.

Until everybody is ready to admit that reserves are cesspools, where can we go?
Fetal Alcohol syndrome is rampant.
Poverty is everywhere, while chiefs and their families rake in the money.
The money comes from the Feds and is drained and drained and drained until the bottom layer (the few people who live on the reserve have nothing)
The system stinks.
