In- Credible

Solicitor-General Rich Coleman made two statements in the house yesterday that have no credibility. They are simply not believable.

1. He said that "the accused confirmed that they acted alone and were solely responsible for their criminal acts."

If like Basi and Virk, your silence had been bought for $6 Million in public funds, you'd say that too.

2. He said "The decision on the fate of the legal fees reimbursed by the government was made by the deputy minister of finance supported by the deputy attorney general who issued a public statement setting out the circumstances. These two senior public servants acted on their own authority without any political direction, influence or approval."

In a government so tightly orchestrated from the top down, one cannot swallow the fairy tale that two deputy ministers made on their own such an enormous decision to spend public funds.

For a much better understanding of this sham, watch the interview with Bill Tieleman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd7OP1GvoAc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dhuLsRwx1g&feature=related.

I am not for a moment suggesting that Mr. Coleman is deliberately saying untruths in the Legislature.

It is quite possible that, having been in government for the past many years, Mr. C. has come to believe whatever shovelful of nonsense the party in power is peddling this week.

It's always amusing to me that the BC Liberal party tells it's followers that anything and everything of any importance that they are the party to lead and yet, public servants made the decision to "pay off" these two with 6,000,000 of our tax money ? I don't buy it either. Apparently Ms. Clark told the "Top Dog" this morning that the release of today's information vindicated her and I'm assuming she was including her past Govt buddies in her statement. Just another reason why for the first time since I could legally vote - I no longer will be.

No matter how odious we may find the choices presented to us, not voting is not a reasonable citizen response.

The vote in a democratic society has come at too great a cost to be resisted.

Yes, the right to vote has come at a great cost.

Suffragettes were imprisoned and went on hunger strikes, during which they were restrained and forcibly tube fed.

I once told this story to a colleague suffering from voter apathy. She thereafter vowed to put her 'X' everywhere possible.

We also need to get involved by writing, e-mailing our government representatives and let them know what we think about their handling of issues.

We are supposedly a democracy but there is plenty of evidence this is not the case. Alberta proved it without doubt when in their last election less than 50% of voters turned out to vote and still the election stood. If it were a true democracy the election would have been declared null and void and would have to have been held again with different candidates as more than 50% of the voters didn't want any of them. We live in a dictatorship there is no doubt.

When a criminal like Campbell gets voted in, then what? We can't get rid of the s.o.b. BC has done the worst, of all the western provinces. BC has lost, over 40,000 jobs in the last three months, because of the HST. BC people spend billions, shopping in the U.S.A. and Alberta, because of the HST. People shop on line, because of the HST. On TV, one restaurant owner said, this was the worst business he has done, in over 20 years. Food costs have gone through the roof. Gasoline is the most expensive in BC. Campbell has thieved this province and the people blind. Thieved and sold our BCR. Thieved and sold our rivers. Campbell lied twice to make sure he was, re-elected to steal some more. So, when politicians lie, they still get to stay in office. That's why BC people don't vote. When Campbell is gone, his clone will take over, and destroy what is left of BC. Campbell is a criminal, and deserves to be sent to prison. Now we have Hansen, appointing a stacked panel, to evaluate the HST. What in the hell do we want with a panel, we live the dammed mess of the HST. You would have to be as brain dead as Martyn Brown, not to see the HST has killed this province. What a farce. The same farce as, Campbell's corrupt sale of the BCR, court farce.

We the voters don't care WHO made the decision... it was a bad one, it was wrong, and it has to be corrected!

Incredulous indeed!

What does Mr. Coleman take us for?

Anything he can get?

It has always been interesting to me that the 'Deputy Minister of Finance' and his immediate (and perhaps not so immediate) superiors have not had to explain, specifically, why he, the Deputy Minister in question, was not in a conflict of interest when he helped arrange the six million dollar deal that kept a former close business associate from testifying, under oath and under the threat of cross-examination, at the 11th hour.
