General Calls Iraq "Nightmare"

"After more than four years of fighting, America continues its desperate struggle in Iraq without any concerted effort to devise a strategy that will achieve victory in that war-torn country or in the greater conflict against extremism."LT. GEN. RICARDO S. SANCHEZ, the retired former top commander of American forces in Iraq.

Now doesn't that just say it all.

If it were just Democrats or Bush-haters saying these things...but here is the guy with the credentials.

Iraq is a war that is being faught is such a way that it will NEVER END. None of the 'controllers' of the situation want it to end, therefore there will never be any plan to end it - with either victory or defeat.

The reason why this general is able to speak so plainly and clearly about it is:
1) he has retired.
2) he has no interest in entering the political arena and therefore sees no disadvantage to 'pissing in the pretorian g-ahem- Homeland Security "corn flakes"'
3) the general has seen enough death and destruction of his soldiers and now has a case of 'haunted conscience'.

If there ever were such a thing as a 'libertarian' or 'third option' party in the US they need to recruit from such persons as this newly retired General.
