Today's Province Column +
Here is today's Province column.
And below is a succinct response:
Hello Mr. Berner,
I absolutley and totally agree with your perspective on treatment and not giving to those struggling with addictions more of the same. Personally, I believe that we have bought into the notion of harm reduction simply because we no longer really care about the well being of those entrapped and we do not have the patience and dedication that is required to see individuals weaned off of substance abuse.
Thanks,
Don Sukkau

Interesting that last week I was inundated with raving hate mail, and today I have about 3 responses, all of them positive.
Seems like VENTING...has become a national pasttime.

David, Why don't you reveal your identity as an addictions counsellor/actor/broadcaster/bon vivant/pal
at the end of your column. I hope you noticed this week that I called Shirley Stocker at NW to let her know how ill mannered and offensive yuppy Christie it's all about me was on air last Fri. She
was badmouthing merchants on Robson
St. by name for not giving her good service and her guest Francis Bula from the Sun quietly asked if this was because she wasn't recognized. Anyway, Shirley said she'd have a talk with her.
If enough people phone Shirley maybe we can get rid of that AM loudmouth who should retire.
Have a happy week. Cheers.
