Freedom to Hate Week

Greg Felton believes that Jews are responsible for 911.

Greg Felton was fired about 9 years ago from his job as writer for The Vancouver Courier, a Canwest newspaper, owned by the Asper family, Winnipeg Jews.

Felton is obsessed with his hatred for Jews.

I know this because I worked with him for 8 months as we entered the 21st century.

He is incapable of maintaining a human conversation for longer than 4 minutes without beginning his rant against Jews.

Now, the Vancouver Public Library is giving him a stage to discuss his new book. This is the library's contribution to Freedom to Read Week.

The Library should have its head examined.

There are hate crimes and hate laws in this country. Perhaps you don't think we should have them. But for the moment, we do.

Is freedom of speech limitless?
Read Terry Glavin's editorial in this morning's Sun here.

To answer your question, David, I believe that unless speech is directly causing violence against specific individuals then yes, it should be limitless. Failure to believe this is what is causing all the grief for Ezra Levant, Mark Steyn, and Maclean's right now. Even Levant has said that one or more Canadian Jewish groups have gone too far with their suppression of free speech.

As for Felton, I just find him boring and a C- writer at best. I've previously blogged about him after one of his tirades on CKNW. After such appearances he trolls the blog search engines for his name and vociferously uses it to advertise himself. Again, boring.

Remember the old saying, "Every village needs an idiot." He is ours.

David: I have faith that a tolerant society will act as its own policeman on the mattter of freedom of speech...even though it may take years as in the case of Ernst Zundel. I have never heard of Felton and would not cross the road to ask him the time. That said, "If freedom of speech means anything at all, it is the freedom to say things that people do not want to hear" by George Orwell
That's not the quote I was seeking, which goes something like "...the freedom to say that which you would oppose from the bottom of yours" Your what? I can't remember - maybe one of your readers can help me out??

Well, I don't blame him for hating the Aspers. I would love to see the whole family thrown in jail for what they have done to this country's media. Not because they are Jewish.

It is right to let him speak. It is also great sport to ridicule him;)
