I'm Publishing a Study on How many Studies We'll pay for before we ACT
Another egghead academic tax dollar drainer has published another astonishing front-page worthy study on homelessness. Yippee.
Apparently, people are dying. Worse, they are dying from disease and overdoses.
How could that happen when we are all working so hard and so cleverly to eradicate addictions and homelessness?
Thank goodness for another study.
Why waste that money on homes or...wait for it...dare I say it...treatment!?

It's no wonder they keep commissioning more studies - the ones they've done are such utter meaningless biased politically correct crap.
I wish I could get paid so much for doing so little. Maybe that's what I'll do - toss some P values and regression analysis at a piece of paper, fill it full of random pseudoscientific gobbledygook, and bill the government hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Keep shouting, David.
The problem with Vancouver is that we are now having to hear the word "homelessness" uttered in tones of reverence.
When are we going to hear it described for the most part as addiction and/or mental health driven?
Simply building homes is not enough. Many of the homeless have told me that they have had lots of homes. They keep getting evicted. I wonder why?
Could it have something to do with the uncontrollable behaviour of active addiction, or the behaviours of the poorly treated mentally ill.
By all means build housing, but it better be the right kind of housing.Supervised with treatment available. Otherwise it will be no better than the flea and bed bug ridden hotels in the Downtown Eastside.
Every individual who is homeless has to be evaluated for what their core problem is.Simply stuffing them in a room somewhere does nothing to address the real issue.
Perhaps folks could send e-mails to the Premier urging him to reopen Riverview. Copy to Abbott.
I tried this route this week on Wed.(Look. See. Bountiful and Blackmore on Larry King Live (CNN). World wide exposure for BC) Got an answer back today. Copied Fearless Falcon and someone from his dep't called this afternoon. We have concerns about the mother truckers.
