Gavin Loves Trevor...sort of...

What is with the papers? Trevor Linden. 16 pages in The Province and 32 in The Sun. He's a nice guy, an average hockey player, an inspiration in the dressing room, a team player and also did some good things for social agencies and did some volunteer work...........ok. Did he ever even come close to Richard or Beliveau or even Howe or Gretsky (neither of whom I could ever warm to despite their talents)...obviously not. But he's being treated as if he is some kind of combination of Gandhi, Churchill, Lincoln, Einstein, Dr. King, Mandela and Lord God Jehovah....yikes! Even Britney and Madonna don't get this........what's hap'nin' man? Holy smoke a-doodle!

Believe it or not, I think Trevor Linden deserves more recognition for his hockey achievements and his charity work. He deserved to have a major street in Vancouver renamed in his honour....perhaps 16th Avenue?

As the late Pat Burns used to say "false Gods and Sacred Cows".
