BUILD A NEW BRIDGE PLEASE

What sorry backbenchers have represented the derelict and under served communities that have been so badly serviced lo these many years by the Patullo Bridge?

With all the wing-nut highway building projects that have come and gone in this corrupt province, with all the cry for all the years to replace this dangerous relic, why has it never been done?

Now that the old thing has been crippled once again, this time by a fire no less, commuters are being told to be patient.

Kevin, Big Bridge Builder, Falcon stands by with a sorrowful look. Oscar material, for sure.

Shame on these people - provincial governments of the past 20 years - and shame on those of you who still harbor the cranky illusion that the current gang has your best interests at heart.

This bunch couldn't find the best interests of the public if their jobs depended on it.

Hey - wait a minute.

Their jobs do depend on it.
At least they should.

Letting this 80 year old bridge rot away, while they ram through other pet land development...er, transit projects - like the misguided and bloated Canada Line -is criminal.

This bridge just became a toll bridge - in the voting booth.

May day.

David, this 'transit' joke called TransLink continues. Who would think that one of the major arterial bridges in metro Vancouver, would be a wooden trestle? (Well 100 feet or so). Who the hell let this happen?

While Kevin Falcon applauds more SkyTrain construction (radio reports indicate people are not switching from car to SkyTrain) he ignores much cheaper and as efficient alternatives.

What a winners TransLink would look if they had operated a Vancouver to Chilliwack Diesel LRT interurban, running an emergency service across the Fraser. But no, Transclunk, ever the wallflower huffs and puffs - "take SkyTrain (doesn't go where I want to go); "take the bus (they're full);carpool (with who? how?).

Action must be taken, not sending windbag, Ken Hardie to spin the story.

Really, is this the best the city hosting the 2010 Olympics can do? My god, what a farce.

What is needed is a new combine Puttallo road and rail bridge and guess what, there was one planned for in the 70's.

These guys at TransLink and transit czar himself Kevin Falcon, could run a whorehouse, let alone understand its function!

The Falcon can now do a really good deed and put off the Fraser Perimeter road and use the money to rebuild the Patullo and there will be no need for a toll. Then build the highway and TOLL IT. Makes sense to me. But with this bunch unless it makes money for their 'friends' it will never happen.
