Yes,It's Silly...but it's funny.

Gordon the Chicken

Trevor the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several
hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets' and eight or ten
roosters, to fertilize the pullets' eggs.

Trevor kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the
soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time so he
bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell
had a different tone so Trevor could tell from a distance, which
rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an
efficiency report simply by listening to the bells.

The farmer's favourite rooster was Gordon, and a very fine specimen he
was too, but on this particular morning Trevor noticed Gordon's bell
hadn't rung at all!

Trevor went to investigate.

The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets,
hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover but to farmer Trevor's
amazement, Gordon had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring.

He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

Trevor was so proud of Gordon, he entered him into the London
Exhibition and Gordon became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The Result?

The judges not only awarded Gordon the No Bell Piece Prize but they
also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly Gordon was a politician in the making: Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Do you know a Politician called Gordon?

HA HA HA Avery funny story.I really enjoy your blog. I think that I must be close to your age as I seldom dissagree with your views. As disgusting as the Gordo regiem is I CAN NOT bring myself to a mind set where I could support Carol James. If the NDP ever want to be a contender they have got to find a leader. They have got to go back to the labor movement of BC

I for one DON'T want the NDP (are they still 'New' ?) to go back to the 'labour movement'. What I DO want is a party that is some where in the middle of the Liberal and the NDP party that will actually govern for ALL people - NOT just BIG labour and NOT just BIG business. I know what you're thinking as you read my comment - DREAMER !

Cool, a dialogue. Jeff you are a dreamer. But I just said what the NDP need to do to get elected. I to would like to see a true conservative middle of the road party. Your not the only dreamer

Dear Anonymous (who ever "you" are),
In fact, "we" DON'T need the NDP (are they still new ?) to be voted in. I'll say it again, "we DO need a party that rules from the "middle" for everyone as equally as humanly possible. Any party that is in the pocket of a special interest group(s) such as labour or business. How about ideas and programs that are fair and equal to all. I know, I'm a DREAMER.
