Reports Link Karzai’s Brother to Afghan Heroin Trade

The White House says it believes that Ahmed Wali Karzai is involved in drug trafficking, and American officials have repeatedly warned President Karzai that his brother is a political liability, two senior Bush administration officials said in interviews last week.

If you can handle it, read the whole sickeningmess here.

It is for this that Canadian soldiers are dying?

No David.

Canadian soldiers are dying to get a clear corridor for an oil and gas pipeline.

Plain and simple, just a flank action for the main event in Iraq.

Ultimately this, drug trade, has been and will continue to be a principle cash crop for Afghanistan. What else would you expect for a land-locked march region?

They, the Afghan people, have learned to 'bend with the wind', for now the wind is blowing very strong from Washington...when the storm passes and the desert dries up the blood then the Afghan people will bend along with the next wind.

Its only going to get worse I'm afraid, when Barry O gets in and diverts troops from Iraq to Afdumpistan (that is, if he doesn't *ahem* change his mind).
Vietnam II, anyone?
